Calories burned karate calculates calories burned based on karate time, and your weight.
Karate is one of the effective ways for self-defense,
and it is also a good exercise for burning calories because it requires a lot of energy.
Every different activity has its own MET values, in the same situation, the greater the MET value, the more calories burned.
In general, karate has a MET value of 10.
That is about the same calories burned when you run at a speed of 6 miles per hour.
How to Calculate Karate Calories Burned
To calculate calories burned doing karate, use the following formula:
MET x Body Weight x 3.5 / 200 x time, where
Body weight unit = kg
Time unit = minutes
MET = 10
Example
For example, if a person weighs about 140 pounds (63.5 kg) and does karate for 1 hour,
it burns around 667 kcal.
The calculation is:
10 x 63.5 kg x 3.5 / 200 x 60 minutes = 667 kcal.
