How to Calculate GPA

To calculate gpa, we first need to get the point value for each grade. The following is a grade table that shows a point value corresponding to each grade.

Once we know the point value for each grade, we can now proceeded to use the GPA formular to calculate college GPA.
1. Add up credit for each courses to get a total credit.
2. Multiple the credits with point value for each grade, and add up all the point value for each course to get a total point value.
3. Your GPA is the (total score/total point value)

For example, if you get a grade A for a 3 credit Math course, and you get a B- for a 4 credit English course. Here's how the average GPA is calculated.
1. The math course has 3 credits and the English course has 4 credits, so total credits is 3+4 = 7.
2. The grade A has point value of 4.00 and grade B- has a point value of 2.67, so you get a total point value of 4.00(point value)*3(credits)+2.67(point value)*4(creditds) = 12+10.68 = 22.68
3. (total score/total point value) = 22.68/7 = 3.24.
